And boy, is the latency low. I use Ableton with a number of the NI VSTs, especially Guitar Rig 5 and the Maschine.
But it is worth the money it costs. You will only get bad recordings from this device due to other factors such quality of your mics, cables, room noise/treatment, bad recording technique, etc. The device itself is almost faultless. It's one of the best in its price range and one of my favourite pieces of gear. Pros: - Solid, great build quality - Comes with Cubase LE 6 & Komplete Elements - Easy to setup - Multiple headphone jacks Cons: - No gain control on the TRS inputs/outputs 3 and 4 so controlling the level has to be done in the software that you're using. I use it for my Yamaha HS8s, and to record vocals/guitar. Pure sound and has the perfect amount of inputs, headphone, MIDI interface etc.even has a button to switch monitoring to mono which is immensely helpful for mixing and testing how your music will sound on club systems/iPhones and so on. Beautiful design, big volume knob, & lights for which inputs/outputs are being used. Highly recommend this interface - sounds great, and looks awesome in my studio!

The two updates available from NI are: Komplete Audio 6 driver 4.2.0 - windows 7 and above 25MB Device Updater 1.2.0 - Windows 5.8MB The device updater readme states that 'Important note: On Microsoft Windows(R) systems, at least driver version 3.0.3 must be installed before updating the firmware provided with this version of DeviceUpdater.' DRIVER 4.2.0 MUST ME INSTALLED FIRST. During install 'Please make sure that the komplete Audio 6 hardware is not connected during this installation' I unplug the device when prompted, and continue install.

Mate, again thank you for your assistance here. I am now thinking that this has to be a problem with the device despite the green light being lit on the device when I plug into my laptop. I have just tried the interface on a completely different laptop and again I get the same error ' No Komplete Audio 6 found' despite installation of the drivers completing. The laptop doesn't even bleep when I plug it in and nothing is showing in the Windows Device Manager. The USB ports on both laptops that I have tried work as I have plugged in mice, memory sticks and external hard drives. Got to be the device hasn't it? Okay, now I am confused.
All in all this was money well spent. It has 6 channels in this USB Audio and MIDI interface by Native Instruments. It is the Komplete Audio 6, I know first hand that Native Instruments makes some quality gear and mainly software that’s why I knew that I had to get my hands on this interface. I'm using a 2007 Macbook with 2.16 intel core 2 duo with 2.5 GB RAM, which I thought would be plenty of power, but I get lapses. I imagine these issues would be resolved with either a clean install or a better performing system.
